Filter Backwash

Backwashing water filters are large tank-style filters that clean and renew themselves by backwashing. Used as a form of preventative maintenance, backwashing consists of reversing the flow of water so that it enters from the bottom of the filter bed, lifts and rinses the bed, then exits through the top of the filter tank. The purpose of this process is to rinse and settle the bed to prepare it for return to service flow.

Filtration systems use both media and backwash filters to collect any particles that flow through your water or enter the water system. Filters need cleaning regularly as the pores become clogged.
