What is Hydrogen Cyanide?
Hydrogen Cyanide is an industrial chemical, primarily used in the manufacture of paints, plastics, synthetic fibers and other chemicals in a wide variety of industries, including metal cleaning, gardening, dying, printing, pest control fumigant and photography. Exposure to Hydrogen Cyanide may occur in the workplace due to its wide usage, although safe levels are enforced to protect employees.
Due to its toxicity, hydrogen cyanide prevents the body from using oxygen properly. Early signs of exposure includes headache, nausea, dizziness, confusion and drowsiness, however substantial exposure may rapidly lead to unconsciousness, fitting, coma and possibly death.
