Peracetic Acid

Peracetic acid (PAA) is an extremely strong, highly corrosive oxidizer, widely used for its ability to sanitise surfaces and objects.

What is Peracetic Acid?

Peracetic Acid is widely used for its sanitizing and disinfection abilities. Used within the medical and food industries for the disinfection of piping systems and processing equipment, Peracetic Acid is also used for spray washing of food products and for disinfection of cooling water systems. It is considered environmentally friendly and is characterized by a very rapid action against all microorganisms. However, it also is highly corrosive, flammable and can severely irritate eyes, skin and the respiratory system.

Peracetic Acid monitoring

Monitoring background levels of PAA in the workplace is not easy, but ATi are one of only two gas sensor manufacturers in the world that can make accurate, specialist sensors that can be used to protect staff.
