Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an extremely strong oxidiser widely used in the deep cleaning and decontamination of medical, education, leisure and care facilities to destabilise any molecule it can react with, including those that make up microorganisms.

What is Hydrogen Peroxide?

Used for decontamination, sterilisation, infection control and residual gas monitoring, hydrogen peroxide in its pure form it is a colourless liquid, however for safety reasons it is normally used as an aqueous solution. Its principal industrial use is as a bleaching agent used to sterilise surfaces, often deployed as a vapour (VHP) for equipment and room decontamination.

Hydrogen Peroxide monitoring

Monitoring background levels of hydrogen peroxide in the workplace is not easy. ATi are one of the only gas sensor manufacturers in the world that can make an accurate sensor that can be used to protect staff. H2O2 is released into the air during the decontamination process (fogging) and needs to be monitored as part of Quality Controls Programmes.

ATi’s flexible range of fixed and portable gas detection solutions help a variety of industries to optimise places of work, protect air quality and safeguard health and safety.
